EL AL is a full service airline, is the flag carrier of Israel and is based in Ben Gurion Intl Airport, Tel Aviv. It is widely considered to be the most secure airline in the world, with stringent boarding procedures and defense systems installed on their entire fleet. EL AL operates a combination of short-haul narrowbody aircraft and long-haul wide-body aircraft, including variants of the B737, B747, B767 and B777, with a high fleet age of 14 years. Its frequent flier program is Matmid, and it is not a member of any recognised alliance. It does, however, codeshare with a number of different airlines.
